We believe that only a knowledgeable and well-informed community is able to self-lessly and lovingly make (!) care of places and ideas. The realization of projects in a step-by-step process, truly engaging the community members is at the heart of placemaking practice. For this purpose, a very handy tool can be the organization of various events, ensuring that everyone eventually feels ownership and membership of the (new) idea or initiative.
The form and purpose of activation events can vary - workshops, public debates, lectures, pop-up initiatives, mini-festivals; aimed at idea development, selection, evaluation, introducing stakeholders, creating informal communities etc. These kinds of events allow the persons involved to gather, get used to the practical and broader aspects of the project staretegies, and to co-create.
